The Malaysian government has designed 'Malaysia, My Second Home Programme' as an attractive settlement plan and welcomes people from all over the world as recognized by Malaysia, who meet certain criteria to live in Malaysia. They would be given a 10-year Social Visit Pass with a Multiple Entry Visa that is guaranteed renewable unless they violated the rules. However, this programme does not promise a permanent resident status.

The criteria for application are as follows:

  • The program is opened to all citizens of all ages and recognized by Malaysia.
  • Applicants require to apply medical insurance locally.
  • The candidate however may not work in the country unless they possess skills and expertise that is lacking amongst the locals, can only apply as investors.
  • Dependents under the age of 18 and still studying are required to apply for Student Pass to further their education in schools or institutions of higher learning.
