Sabah's population is heterogeneous and culturally diverse, with more than 30 different ethnic races and over 80 local dialects spoken. All these ethnic groups live together harmoniously whilst at the same time preserving their own culture, traditions, festivals and customs.
Homestay programmes allow one to get a chance to experience Sabah’s known warm hospitality and unique culture. The locals love meeting people and learn about new culture - no guests are stranger in their homes. Living with these friendly kampung folks will expose visitors to many unique practices such as the ability to eat with hands, wearing a comfortable sarong and playing with kids amidst the scenic paddy fields. Built within 30 acres of green spurs of hills, valleys and forested ridge, the homestay offers a variety of kampung activities and recreational facilities. Kampung lifestyle is both simple and peaceful. Here one grows padi, vegeables and herbs, rear poultry, buffaloes and fish to supplement one's diet. There is tranquility and always, there is a feeling of contentment.

Nestled in the Papar countryside rests an ideal place for those who seek to experience the kampung (village) life. Located 35km south of Kota Kinabalu City, 700m off the old Penampang-Papar Highway, in Kampung Gana.
Days are quiet and relaxing with just the sound of birds, insects and water streams, the occasional car, and geese or chicken to rouse the peace. The night air is cool but lively as insects make their nightly calls or aramai tii (merry gatherings) resounds as family and friends gather to catch up over a few glasses of montoku (rice wine).
