Nestled in the Papar countryside rests an ideal place for those who seek to experience the kampung (village) life. Located 35km south of Kota Kinabalu City, 700m off the old Penampang-Papar Highway, in Kampung Gana.
Built within 30 acres of green spurs of hills, valleys and forested ridge, the homestay offers a variety of kampung activities and recreational facilities.
Kampung lifestyle is both simple and peaceful. Here one grows padi, vegeables and herbs, rear poultry, buffaloes and fish to supplement one's diet. There is tranquility and always, there is a feeling of contentment.
Days are quiet and relaxing with just the sound of birds, insects and water streams, the occasional car, and geese or chicken to rouse the peace. The night air is cool but lively as insects make their nightly calls or aramai tii (merry gatherings) resounds as family and friends gather to catch up over a few glasses of montoku (rice wine).
